Deta Ruth Petersen Neeley (1898-1965) was born in Bear River City, Utah. She received her B.A. and M.S. from USU. From 1934 to 1937 she studied at the University of California at Berkeley and finished her Ph.D. requirements with a dissertation entitled "Rural Teachers' Problems and Supervisors' Procedures For Dealing With Them." She worked as a teacher in Utah and California and was the author of numerous LDS children's books. From the description of Deta P. Neeley papers, 1915-1937....
